BENEFIT

Giving back is a principal component of the culture within A Dream LYFE. Recognizing and accepting social responsibility as one of the most important steps in personal empowerment and spiritual growth, encompassing the mission I aim to achieve. There is rarely a time in our lives when we cannot help or improve the experience of another person. Even when we feel we have nothing or too little to give, someone out there can benefit from that “little bit” in a big way. There is always something in each of us, separate from our material things, that is worth sharing and can help someone else out tremendously. Remain conscious of this truth, so when the time comes you’ll feel confident enough to give of yourself freely, without hesitation or doubt.

As we become empowered, so does our desire to help others through financial contributions. I’m involved with bringing social change and support to ministries through several outlets. Whether by preparing food with other volunteers to distribute to our homeless, or praying and bringing some words of encouragement during street ministering, I love to donate a portion of my time to aiding and assisting those who are in need. There are so many ways to give and I’ve listed some of my favorite charities on this page. I am in no way affiliated with any charity listed here, nor do I receive any compensation or special privileges for presenting them to you. I created this list as a point of reference, awareness, and advocacy for some of the beautiful humans in our world who need our love and donations. I personally have volunteered, pledged monthly, or given a one-time donation to one or more of the charities listed and continue to do so. If you don’t choose one here, I know you’ll help someone somewhere.

The Wounded Warrior Project
One of the most important contributions to our continued freedom and liberty is the plight of the American soldier. These amazingly brave contributors to our democracy are always in my thoughts and prayers. Many of us disagree with war but unfortunately these dangerous battles happen anyway, and at any time. I feel a deep respect, admiration, and love for the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom each day. Unfortunately, many soldiers return home severely injured, unable to function normally, and need additional funding to help them care for themselves and their families. This project also funds amazing surgeries and mechanical improvements for lost limbs. Learn more about this project here….. https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org

Save the Children
This organization is huge and presents many ways for people to extend their love and help the children. Even with the large capacity in which it serves, Save the Children promises that 87% of all donations go directly to the children in one form or another. Here is where children are given education, nurturing, food, clothing, and much more. What I love about this organization is that you can offer a one-time donation or sponsor a child directly at very low costs. It is empowering to give every day people options for aiding and empowering these children who may have never had a chance to survive otherwise. VDay
This is a global movement to end aggression and violence against women by not only providing services to these women, but also dealing with legislation to create stiffer laws that violate offenders. Losing my mother to a senseless act of domestic violence at the tender age of 5, and later becoming a victim of domestic abuse, this organization is very close to my heart. It’s 2017, and a woman is raped, beat, or killed less than every hour in the United States alone. Please learn more about how you can help here….

The non-GMO Project
Many people are in a state of panic about the nature of our food and health across the globe. I am an avid foodie who resents genetically modified foods on my plate or in my basket at the supermarket without my knowledge. Here is an organization that funds research and verifies food plants and products that we can trust or not trust. It is crucial for us as human beings who thrive and survive on what nature provides to be informed on a consumer level about the foods we are feeding to ourselves, and our loved ones. Find more information about them here…. https://www.nongmoproject.org/

Door of Hope
I grew up in the eighties when the crack-cocaine drug wave put many mothers in the grasping debts of addiction hell. There were many babies found dead, abandoned, abused, and sick all throughout the country. I am grateful for the ending of that tragic era. Unfortunately, poverty is far reaching and so many mothers are still finding it difficult to keep their babies because of many different reasons. Thanks to the South African Door of Hope project, mothers or anyone can drop infants off into a special baby bin from the outside door without judgment or punishment. This philosophy, though criticized by some, really is a heart-warming and bold effort to save small helpless babies. To learn more about how you can help visit them here…. http://doorofhope.co.za/

1 Billion
There are great people coming together through trustworthy organizations everywhere giving immeasurable hours to causes on the behalf of humanity and our environment. If you can’t find one that interests you here, I encourage you to seek through research until you do. It is God’s way and it is our responsibility to compassionately look out for those who can’t do it on their own.
